Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ Charging Issues to Be Fixed via Software Update
Samsung has confirmed that it is working on a software update to address charging issues reported by Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25+ users. Over the past few weeks, owners of these models have complained about charging-related problems, including slow charging speeds and random interruptions. Samsung has acknowledged the issue, stating that it is linked to certain 5A cables, and a software fix is expected soon. Notably, the standard Samsung Galaxy S25 does not seem to be affected.

Samsung’s Fix for Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra Charging Bug
Following the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, several Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25+ users took to online forums, including Reddit and Samsung’s community pages (via Android Police), to report persistent charging issues. Users described inconsistent charging speeds, prolonged charging times, and frequent interruptions where the device would mistakenly indicate that the charger was disconnected and reconnected.
Based on user reports, these charging issues significantly impact the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25+. Some users have observed that their phones take several hours to charge completely. In response to a query on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this month, Samsung Italy confirmed in Italian that the issue stems from the use of 5A cables. The company assured users that a software update is in development to rectify this problem.
Recent Software Update and Temporary Workarounds
Samsung has already rolled out a software update for the Galaxy S25 series, which included general stability improvements. However, it remains unclear whether this update has fully addressed the charging issues, as some users continue to report problems.
In the meantime, affected users are advised to use a 3A cable instead of a 5A cable while charging their Galaxy S25 Ultra or Galaxy S25+ with Samsung’s official 45W charger. The base Galaxy S25 model, which supports a maximum charging speed of 25W, appears to be unaffected by these issues.
Verdict: Software Fix Incoming
Samsung’s commitment to resolving the charging problem via an upcoming software update is reassuring for users experiencing issues. While waiting for the fix, switching to a compatible cable may help mitigate the problem temporarily. As Samsung continues to enhance the Galaxy S25 series through software improvements, users can expect a more stable and efficient charging experience soon.
